I have to admit that sometimes when I watch CNN, I get the feeling that they lean slightly left of center. Certainly not far left, though.

Well, it's all relative, I suppose. CNN leans a little to the left, BBC even more so(though you have to take into account the fact that Brits as a whole tend to be more socialist), and then the Guardian is pretty much the left-wing equivalent of Fox News.

I actually think it's a good thing that we have all these different slants to our news. It avoids a monopoly on the news reported. I appreciate Fox news because they have their point of view on a matter and then CNN and the BBC present their slant. If you're not smart (or happen to be a sheep)then you may fall for the blathering of one or the other but I tend to take what they both say with a grain of salt.

But the bias that all our news sources have in common is that their primary purpose is to sell advertising dollars and attract viewers which is an unfortunate bias that only bbc can mostly avoid.
