how do i use this scale?
    #2956272 - 08/02/04 02:45 PM (17 years, 4 months ago)

I just ran over to Office Max and picked up one of those cheap postage scales that cosr roughly $3. I know that a digital scale is well worth the money but I have too many bills right now. Anyways, I need to know how to use this scale. I have never messed with weighing things until now so of course I have no idea what I'm doing. The scale is small and made of metal. I could post a pic but I figure that most of you know what I am talking about....

The way the scale is supposed to be used is like this.

Take a pen or your finger and let the scale hang from the loop (or hook) part.

Next, attach the object you are wieghing to the clip.

If you want the most accurate readings, take good care of it because they fuck up easily. Hell, if you're smart enough, you could tweak it so it measures skimp.

You definately should try hanging it by a pen or something else that is stationary to get the optimum reads.

Don't forget to clip the object you are weighing as close to it's center of gravity as possible.

Insignificant shit like air blowing or insanely loud music will make the scale read funny, so be sure to turn your fans off.

Thanks, I appreciate the help. I figured it was something simple like that but I wanted to make sure. Thanks again...

One more thing, how much does the baggy usually throw things off?

It depends on the baggy.

The standard sandwich bag is a gram, I think they are the best.

Some ziplock bags are around 5-7 grams.

To be sure, you should weigh a an empty bag.
