what if you trained a dog to sniff for active shrooms.... wouldn't that make it so much easier?

As much as I like the idea, it is not only virtually impossible (theoretically), but it has also been discussed. I am so lazy I am not even going to look up the post but check it out- it was very interesting. But yeah- if you could, you could send him in with a sort of pouch attatched behind the head where he could pluck them and deposit them in the bag! Then the farmers would not be so mad since dogs are less prone to litter.

The dog would eat the shrooms and trip balls.
The thing you need to get is an ill pig.

The pig will definately find shrooms better than a dog. The problem is you have to get the shrooms first because the pig might try to eat them too.

this has been discussed in several different threads already [including the use of pigs]. nothing has come of it as far as i know. if you have sufficient time, patience and access to psilocybian mushrooms in the field, go at it.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
