gambling and the boat
    #2955445 - 08/02/04 10:46 AM (12 years, 4 months ago)

so i went to the boat for my fisrt time ever last night.
most of the night, i was playing roulette. i think all in all i spent $50. at one point i had one my origonal $50 back and had $40 more. i put the $50 in my pocket so i wouldnt walk away loosing anything and decided just to play with my profits.

well i lost all of those, then i lost the money that i had put away not to play with (from my pocket). i knew i would and i did even though i didnt want to. luckily i loaned abuddy $15 so i didnt loose it all.

i think that i could be on the verge of a serious gambling problem. i have always had a very VERY addictive personality, and now i that my first taste of the boat is going to bring about a problem. even though, i pretty sure i will be going back sometime this week to play again.

well see if this becomnes a problem

I've lost about $6,000 since gambling became legal around here a few years ago. The more often you go, the more you loose. I hit three jackpots in one week $300, $600, and $1,000, but when your down $5,000, you keep playing. That was earlier this summer and I've lost it all back already, plus more to boot. Lucky for you, you have to go out to the boat. In West Virginia, every convenient store and gas station has slot machines.

Sorry for not being supportive, but I feel your pain man.
Find something else.
There have been too many nights that I been driving home from the casino, broke, and thinking about how much fun I could have had spending that 200 bucks somewhere else.

yesh, i went back today, and lost $20 i suppose its not too bad as long as its my disposable income, and i only go with a set amount like $20 and once its gone its gone. plus i found a cheaper boat instead of $15 minimums i found a $5 roulette table.

i could see it becoming a problem for me, well see what happens.

If you are going to gamble, then you have to resolve yourself to the fact that you will loose money. Take a certain amount that you decide is what you are willing to loose and that then becomes what you are willing to pay for the entertainment of gambling. When you walk onto the boat you should say to yourself, "I'm going to loose $100, $200, ect.", whatever the amount is.

so yeah, i just went to the boat sunday night, lost $20 and went to another boat, and then went back the next day(yesterday).
im not really loosing money, infact i only go in with $20 or so and leave when its gone. but its like a drug, all of the energy, i was there yesterday for 8 hours and didnt even realilse it untill i looked at my watch! all on the same $20.

if anyone had a gambling problem i would like to know if yours started out like this, because i wonder if i do,
im not playing with more than i make or more that i can loose, but i love doing it.

plus i have a super-addictive personality

the more i think about it the more i realise that this is all part of the pattern i go through with most new exciting things, i get all revved up into whatever this new thing is. like i first was with weed, and underground parties, but eventually it works its way out.
probably not too big of a deal

but damn, that rush is insane, anxiety trippin!
