first off, there is no such mushroom as "Azurians". you seem to be thinking of Psilocybe asurescens, a species from the northern Packific caost [Oregon] wich does not grow anywhere even remotely near you. you realy need to do a lot fo study before you trust your identifications, because you clearly do not know what it means to identify a mushroom to species.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Don't you people know that Azurescens are in Ohio? They were introduced ala outdoor grow or some type of manual spore distribution. Now they're there. So don't give him so much crap.

If they are so known about, how come there haven't been any pictures of the findings?
Ive read numerous times that they must grow within 50 miles of an ocean. Most Azure pickings are done in the dunes that border some coastlines.

you are wrong. they have been grown in outdoor beds [ie. private cultivation via mycelial inoculation of wood chips using grain spawn] and have not been introduced. they are possible to cultivate by theese methods in a great many areas, but they have not been found to be spreading in range beyond thier natural habitat and the colonies in the artificial beds die out without direct human maintainment.

Hey gawk,
Concretefeet feet already told you what "introduced" meant in the document you sighted above. You are claiming to have found mushrooms that have never been reported growing in the wild anywhere within 2000 miles of where you live. And not only that, the species you are talking about fruits in late fall not the middle of summer. I would love it to be true that Psilocybe azurescens have escaped cultivation and are flourishing wild in Ohio; I live here too. However you are making a spectacular claim with no proof to back it up. If you have a picture of a blue-bruising little brown mushroom, which you found in Ohio, I'm sure we would all love to see it. But I suspect you do not.
Insulting Gumby is childish and does not belong in this forum. If you read more and post less, you will avoid making an ass out a yourself in the future.
Peace

I dunno, I tend not to trust that so much word for word

Well that needs to be removed. Introduced means that someone successfully grew a CULTIVATED patch in their back yard. It doesn't mean they've taken hold or they are common.
They grow from wood, in the fall, in sandy costal regions of Oregon. Not Ohio. Not during the summer.

if your so depressed and such, it probably would be a good idea to avoid mushrooms.

So true. Dosing up while depressed is probably the best way to have a bad trip.
