Will do. I might just go the good beer route. It seems rather popular here and also a lot cheaper. I don't know if I should even waste the absinthe in such a manner. Hmm decisions decisions

I would save the precious absinthe for a later time, but thats just me...i don't know if you like micro brews, but if you do, try Samuel Smith's Taddy Porter, a fine sierra nevada, or a red hook....they seem to taste extra special!

Real absinthe, not homebrew or people soaking wormwood in everclear, is awesome. I don't mix usually, so I wouldn't know about its relation with shrooms. It keeps you completely lucid in mind, while your body is lax. Everything becomes more exact in perception and form. The forms it is availble in today, from reputable mfr's in Spain etc., is not the Pernod of the past though. Thujone levels are apparently much lower today. But it not dangerous, it does not make you mad. Much of the hype regarding the *bad rap* of absinthe can be likened to the series of misinformation about the current drug culture today.
If you're interested, poke around http://www.sepulchritude.com regarding discussions of absinthe (they have a board there as well that is very informative, with reviews of brands and vendors as well). You can learn a lot there. HQ has sucessfully imported absinthe from Spain to the US with no customs problems- she used www.spiritscorner.com (click on the Brit flag, then go to *apertifs*). Ran about 70$ or so US for 2 bottles and shipping (shipping's the killer, the bottles are actually inexpensive)- and is most likely the cheapest source for US consumers to go thru. (I may be wrong though, it's been about six months since I placed an order, so that may have changed).
