question about germination through to colonization
    #2952017 - 08/01/04 03:34 PM (13 years, 18 days ago)

When i inoculate my PF jars, should i keep them in a dark place with no light or should i keep them in indirect light? I don't
know which pne it is because I found both statements in this website and i don't know which one is the proper way.

u probley heard to keep in indirect light from people doing invitro(shrooms in the jar) if ur planning on birthing or something then keep em in darkness till then.
Light is one of the triggers to get mushrooms. Its letting the mycelium know, hey i must be getting close to the top of the ground since i can see light now, better start going some mushrooms, if u follow me.

indeed complete darkness is good.
But do not worry about a little light here and there.
When my friend started he would check them every other day exposing them to a small amount of light for about 3 minutes or so. Made them go a bit slower perhaps but nothing to noticable or horrid beacme of this. And its always good for a beginning grower to make sure everything is contam free. So checking up on them is good. Dont over do it.

don't check them everyday though, shrooms know when you are being impatient and will break your balls!

I totally agree! Shrooms know when you are watching. It's like they just say "HEY FUCKER................GIVE ME SOME PRIVACY".
