where would you live?
    #2946435 - 07/30/04 11:04 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

If money were not an issue where would you chose to live?
where would you chose to live?
You may choose only one
I would chose a modest house in the suburbs
I would choose an apartment in the city of my choice
I would choose a family farm
I would choose a sustainable living commune in the country/woods that grows its own produce and raises its own animals, produces its own electricity (if it has it), has its own water source, composts its shit... etc...is essentially autonomous...
I would choose to live nowhere specific and be transient

I'd go somewhere exotic. I'd travel also.

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity. ~ Albert Einstein

For me, I'm stuck in between three answers, the city, the collective farm and being transient. I'm transient right now, so I'm basically jumping between the other two things all over Canada and the States. I'm in Boston today. I'll move back to the city but I'll also be working on some land so I suppose I'll be all three for awhile.

You forgot a nice log cabin, somewhere out in Wyoming, with acres of land, near a small river full of trout!

I lived on a small sailboat anchored of St.Augustine fla. for a couple of years. The dock fee for the dingy covered hot showers.

I even went thru a hurricane on it. just took shelter behind the highest sand dune.

I heard beachcombing in the pacific nw was cool because merchant ships lost lots of stuff overboard and prevailing winds brought them ashore. I'd like to do that sometime and take along a good shroom identifying book for shrooms in wine sauce. Maybe live in a camper.

i like the idea of living in an autonomus comune but i'd hate being too far from a city...
i'd like to be able to grow whatever i want all the time!
and if it really was a dream place then i could make money off selling weed/shrooms and stuff so i can have a little extra income for things i can't make on my own and for vacations in diffrent places all over the world... that's about it i think
oh yeah...
it'd have also have a small pond and little springs and lots of trees and nature around it
and no mosquitos at all

Right now, with my social life being what it is, I'd prefer living in a city. However, if I was happily married and had lots of friends living near me, I'd prefer a small town or commune.

I'd want to have my own 1000 acres of natural woodlands with my house smack dab in the center. Possibly with a few hundred acres for a small cattle ranch near one of the borders of my property that I would share with joy as long as visitors were polite to my cows.

The only other thing that I ask is that this place be within 5-20 miles of a fairly large city with lots of cool things going on constantly.

I lived in a cooperative for about six months, but it was not out in the woods like i would want it to be...and no composting shit, we flushed like everybody else..grew veggies and herbs though, it was a great time. Learned a lot about alternative lifestyles, conservation, healthy cooking, and life in general. It was part of NASCO..any other members here?

tropical paradise, beachfront modest home or mansion (i'm not too picky as long as live on the ocean in a tropical setting w/ palm trees and white sand and tropical breezes...oh crap i've soiled myself). italian villa home/decor would be my choicest choice.
