With spores it varies every time you do it. There is really no way to say with certainty.

Yeah. I've got Gulf Coast that spreads very quickly. Just make sure your environment is good and most strains will colonize quickly.

There is no definative "fast" strain. If you have the proper temp, food, and a way for c02 to escape it will colonize very fast. Sometimes though if grow and grow through your own prints on BRF, the strain can become weak and slow. This can be solved by growing the spores on agar and selecting the the fastest rizzos and transfering them to another agar. Then transfer a cutting from your agar plate into a grain jar, grow you friuts, and then the prints off of those will be mostly like its parents. Have fun!

i am currentlyt working with gt,tc,eq,hawaii and thialand.the hawians and tailand colonized much faster but these two came from a different vendor i am guesing these spores were fresher,I MAY GET SOME FLACK FOR THIS BUT..MY JARS REALLY DID NOT COLONIZE quickley TILL I TOOK OFF ALL TAPE, LEFT FOIL ON,UNSCRREWED lids half way.one jar had no foil,no tape and unscrewed half way this was my first to colonize w/no contam i was surprised.i am very new to this so take what i am saying with a grain of salt.just trying to be helpful as evryone has been to me!

cambos are incredibly fast for me. And they have been noted by others to be the fastest colonizers. Brazilians are also fast. But cambo's colonize in 50% of the time that it takes for others i have done.

by taking the tape off the holes if you're using pf tek, or by shaking your jars if you're using grains.
regarding what strain colonizes the fastest, in some of my experiments with different substrates and dif strains, i found one strain to really standout in terms of colonizing speed. that was the burma strain. it was ridiclious fast and rhizmorphic. maybe the growing factors (substrate, temp) just favoured this strain.

Pesa H`s colonise very fast and Gulf Coast is a aggressive coloniser also but the GC`s were from a wild print and im kinda pro-Gulf Coast anyway...I really dont know for shure if individual strains are faster or not ...probably good preperation of substrate and ideal temps are the best bet for fast colonisation... When in doubt ask Maga Pictures dont lie Also fresh prints just seem to get there faster and thats why i love doing bizzness with www.ralphstersspores.com

Wow must be something wrong with my cambos. They are going slowwwww. Maybe 10% colonized in 8 jars. 11 days ago I did those and 8 jars of brazilian and the brazilians are ready to be cased tomorrow. Z strain was also very quick, cased 13 days after innoculation. GT was slow but syringe was contaminated, got a good peice and transfered that to a jar and now its going pretty quick. Lots of growth the last three days.
