 Controlling the Phase of the Dynastic Cycle

A long time ago, I realized that politics in this country could be represented by a wave function, in which the politics of the present moment oscillate between liberal and conservative with the passage of time. Here?s a diagram:
Of course, that isnt the exact function, but just a general idea.
Now it seems to me that this cycle is healthy and natural. People become enthralled with a purist ideology, then realize it doesn?t work out, so they start heading for the other extreme. Once they?ve reached the other side they begin to remember how good the first side was and go back to it.
Now here is some speculation:
All of the presidential elections in the past 20 years have been fixed. How you ask? Via the use of ringers. It seems to me that neither party always puts their best foot forward. Sometimes political parties make stupid mistakes, like when the Republicans chose Dole to run against Clinton, or like when the Democrats chose Gore to run against Bush Jr. The question that bothers me is, is this an accident, or is it intentional?
Sometimes it seems to me as if all the presidential elections in my lifetime have been locks. How could the democrats have thought that Dukakis would stand a chance against Bush Sr.? How could the Republicans have thought that Dole stood a chance against Clinton? Does anyone else here feel like the choice has already been made for them by some secretive third party who controls both the republican and the democratic nominations? I cant honestly remember an election in which both parties put their best foot forward. It almost seems like the parties are asked to ?take a dive?. Its never a good democrat running against a good republican; it always seems to be a shitty democrat running against a good republican, or vice versa.
Could it be that perhaps there is some secret organization with both parties in its pockets, controlling the phase of this cycle in order to oscillate our economic policy from communist to capitalist and back again? A secret society of watchers, keeping the balance, making sure our politics dont go too far in either direction?
OK, you can all call me a paranoid conspiracy theorist and post the little tinfoil hat icon now.
