just wondering is it possible to case with just lime?
if it is possible,hydrated lime or just lime?

Coco coir bricks can be found at most pet shops and hydro shops. Plain verm can also be used.

Top soil works, just pick out the wood bits. I used super soil brand and it was pretty full of wood bits so I'd use another brand that doesn't have added ferts.

Schultz cactus potting mix works pretty good for something off the shelf.
You use it to "case" over the substrate. The mycelia grows up through the casing, which keeps it nice and moist.

YOu use an inch of casing on both top and bottom. Think of the casing as a moisture blanket. Using just lime is a really bad idea, you are trying to get the pH nuetral and lime is alkaline all the way. If all else fails use the cactus soil as suggested. Add a pinch of your lime flour to that.

Depending on the size of the casing will determine the layer's depth. If you have a 1 inch layer of substrate you want a 1/4 inch casing layer. Good rule of thumb is casing layer 1/4 the depth of the substrate.
