between june and early september, you can look for 1 hour after a good rain and find hundreds. between november and march you can look for 4hours after rains and be lucky to find 1. Might as well cultivated during those months.
I did find 2 so far this year, early march, hardly worth my time.
I live in SC, and have started looking in a local pasture since the beginning of April, but found nothing but Coprinus's. Got to wait a little longer (like May through June, then late August till winter, they are hardly plentiful in the hot ass summer months, esp. as dry as it gets around here).
