Straw Logs(just a few q's)
    #2942128 - 07/29/04 10:24 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

I have several wheat straw logs that are fully colonized(the dimensions are 3'L 3"radius) my previous logs took FOREVER to fruit. I have a floro light running 12 hrs a day in my grow room with a small fan to curculate the air. The RH stays in the 90's. The logs are also in a vertical position. I need to decrease the pinning time for these logs.
please help

Give me some dark time and why are thes logs so small in diameter? Lay them horizontally, but if vertical works fo you then thats cool too.

Dark time.. hrmm.. 14 hour or so i beleave. There so small cause i ran out of straw when i was rolling them. There roller with galvanized steel mesh. They have to stay vertical due to space restrictions.

The main problem with vertical logs is all the moisture flows by gravity to the bottom of the log. The top dries out and the bottom floods.

if you have a fan in the room with it it is going to lower the rh, no matter how small the fan is, the open ends of the log is plenty of air exchange, you should have had the light on it during all of the colonosation.
