I bought a peruvian torch from Peruvian Journey several years ago that looked identical to that. They said it was some special hybrid. But it looked 100% identical, how it was sectioned off and everything. To me, that doesn't look like a bridgesii either. But i am uncertain exactly which species it is, just doesn't look like the bridgesii' I have worked with.

have you ever visited Erowid SoShroomHungry? Yes bidgessi contains psychoactive compounds as do many trichocereus varieties. You should also maybe check out "Trouts notes: Sacred Cacti" . There are many interesting varieties available.

It looks a lot like a bridge but it's really hard to be sure. It does not look like a peruvianus. I have a few bridges myself and it looks a lot like them but there are so many look alikes that even experts get fooled and I'm not an expert. Bridgesii is mesc containing so one way to tell would be to do an assay on it.

how fast does that cactus grow? How often are you able to harvest. Just curious, thinking of taking on a challenge like a cactus.

"There is a world beyond ours, a world that is far away, nearby, and invisible. And there is where God lives, where the dead live, the spirits and the saints, a world where everything has already happened and everything is known. That world talks. It has a language of its own. I report what it says. The sacred mushroom takes me by the hand and brings me to the world where everything is known. It is they, the sacred mushrooms, that speak in a way I can understand. I ask them and they answer me. When I return from the trip that I have taken with them, I tell what they have told me and what they have shown me."

Upon second viewing and consulting another we both feel that it does resemble a bridgesii more than a peruvianus. Those long spines give it away.

In my experience they usually double their size each year or.. grow about a foot a year.. it depends if it pups out or not. you could have a 3' cactus set out 3 pups and each pup grow a foot.
