You make a hole in the water melon and stick the mouth of a vodka bottle in there and then set the melon so the bottle is upside down, I hear it absorbs into it

Thats the way to be! I was bummed cuz I bought all organic seeds, then the owner of the property was trying to spay my plot with preemergence weed killer I was like NOOOOO please NOOO. But we didnt plow and till my plot properly so the weeds came in like a forest. The beans and melons are peeking out threw all the weeds. He keeps saying well next year your going to take my words and use the weed killer right, and I am like nope I am going to just try something different he is like what ever. Its all about proper tilling I think that should get all the weeds without the use of chems. But in his eyes thats just way to much work. ARRG I need my own land and own farm so I can do as I please.

Yeah it does! When the bottle is empty is when its soaked long enough. When you cut that bugger open it will be super juicy so use a bowl to catch alll the extra and reuse as a coctail.

You're lucky he didn't go ahead and spray. Yeah we had a few big garden beds as well as a small orchard that got smothered in weeds every year, but we would just clear sections out by hand (shovel) and plant in them. I had a huge compost pile too which i dearly miss. I need to make a new composting area because I can't stand throwing the food scraps away!!!!!
You will make a great farmer, Sheik.

I know that but he dosnt seem to understand the ideas behind my phylosophy. I am a bit timid and quiet so it is at times hard to get my point across. I have many issues with the way the farm is running and how he carrys out work around the place. He wants me to be full time, so I guess we will need to work some things out.

Probably the longer you work there, the more respect he will gain for you too. You can always site books and stuff- like "I read such and such in this book and he had great results, maybe we could try it in a small area" or something...it could work.
I know how you feel though. I've been in a lot of work situations like that. Now that I've grown up a little, I am a lot more confident and not as shy as I used to be. I realize that everyone is just a person just like me, and I have no reason to be indimidated by them. Although sometimes I still am.

I read that watermelons are the second most nutritious fruit (cantelope is first) but most of the nutritional content is in the rind. You have to juice 'em to get all the really good stuff. I've juiced 6 or 7 watermelons this summer and man is it good! Not only is it tasty, but I feel great for hours after drinking a glass.
To find a good one (nice and firm and not mushy), give it a thump. If it 'rings', it whould be a good one.
Again...if any of you have a juicer, I definitely recomend it! You will get over a gallon of juice from one medium sized mellon. Also, the seeded watermelons are usually better, with firmer flesh.
