Digi Scales
    #2933767 - 07/27/04 06:02 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

For everyone out there, what kind of scale do you use? I am looking at digi pocket models, and some are $17US while others are $100US (without too much variation in specs that i can see, like 150g x 0.1 instead of 250g x 0.1). Is there a huge difference in quality or accuracy? If there is, i guess it's worth spending some money on it since it'll last, but what are your experiences/thoughts/whatever?

// Edit ... also i really didn't know where to put this thread, i thought about it for a while and this seems like the most fitting place =p

I am using a beam type grain scale that came with my bullet press. It works and I have no reason to spend the extra money. (109 grains X .1 grain (15.43 grains per gram))

beam scales are the nicest and most precise, but also most expensive and tend to be slower to use. not sure what a beam type gran scale is tho.

A beam scale is a really good type of scale. You probably had them in your highschool science labs. The standard in my area's schools are triple beams: one beam and counter weight measuring 50's of grams, the other tens of grams and the last measures single grams down to the tenth.

So if you had an ounce, which is 28 grams, the first beam would be on 0 the second on 20 and the last on 8. if it balances perfectly, you have an ounce. Of course It takes more time to measure shit out but it is good.

This particular scale makes it easy to rip idiots off. Once you learn how to calibrate it, you can calibrate it so it measures weight that is not thier.

If you want a digi scale go to e-bay. I reccomend that you get one that weighs down to .01

Most e-bay digis are alot cheaper than freshly bought scales.

Digi's are more fragile than a beam scale and once they get a bit of beer on them, they get drunk and die.

Oh yeah, NEVER hide your scale with your stash, put it in a draw near where you keep your mail. If you ever get busted, they can fuck you for dealing if it is obvious the scale is associated with drugs.

Be careful and stay safe.

Still, my main concern is quality/accuracy (i will of course take good care of it). Would this be fine and last a long time http://www.oldwillknott.com/cgi-bin/htmlos.cgi/34260.3.5732425476699781280/mx-200_blue.html

It is a grain scale, measures in grains (15.43 grains to the gram)

1 grain = 0.064 grams

Looks like this
