Would you want to live forever?

Would you want to live on this Earth forever and never grow old and die? If you're young you would only grow to a mature age and stop aging (25-35yrs).

I think immortality would be absolutely unbearable if you stop to think about it properly for a moment.

I think living for a long time is good, but forever is not. What if the world just becomes worse and worse. What about boredom? If you've been living for thousands of years you've probably seen it all. That's almost like a type of hell. Never dying but stuck in a dying world.

I don't know, I think that death and life is all relative. I mean you live forever in this life and eventually it'd probably turn into a hellish bore. On the other hand, what if you die in this life and keep on living beyond this world.. then what? We may have immortality in both ways. AHHHH!

i'd like never to worry about old age, disease or trauma, but as i always answer this question, i'd like to have the option of ending my own life.
as long as i'm wishing i'd like to be able to controll my apearant age aswell.

I agree with grwsm2. One life on this earth is enough. One depressing thing about living forever is you would never have any "good ol' friends" that "go way back" because you'd simply outlive everyone you meet.

According to my personal beliefs... We've got the best deal of all.
The Universe is a cycle, As the Universe is Everything, nothing can be lost from it. It can just change shapes and form when you look at it across a certain timeline. Time itself is a cycle too.
Everything is permanent, but the nature of Time is to show a glimpse insted of the Whole.
We live and we die and liver forever more. In our lives everything that is possible shall happen into infinity. If you consider our Soul to be an OS (not the new Windows patch oooh god!) we'll end up in every computer (nervous system) that can contain us. Us?
In fact "we" are "THE" We're The Sentience in many of its/our/your guises. The Sentience travels space and time, embodied and disembodied forever living the Great Adventure with all its Heavens and Hells. We individuals like to think we're all that, but thats just taking pride in the Life's software you wrote and undrappreciation of others.
We are immortally mortal in the infinity of time and space.
As for this earth: gimme a lil bodymorph & I'll happily want to live 500 years here unless international politics declare a War on Happiness as an umbrella to catch all other current civil-war efforts under.
Suck right ahead mr president, and I'll hug ya under the Nuke's early light in the deepest love when that time comes around once more. In a woman shape I shall give birth to you, once more, and starved, naked and rotting our dead bodies will get shoveled in that mass grave yet again. And thanks for that first tab of LSD you layed on me that time, I'll return the Divine Favor forever more.
In this "Omnicyclic Universe", where any cycle of events will unfold forever theres everything to gain, everything to lose: The aim of the game is to feel real good and enjoy the Journey when you can. Give me a rose or an overhead airburst: All is eternal but will fade from your memory to make room for the Eternal Now of Existance.
God pulled a quickie on Creation: first of all everything runs itself and secondly the Creation IS the Creator so no extra effort had to be put into it. So science and religion can go back to bed and yiff each other silly because religion says: you must live by the holybook thats been written and science continually writes the wholybook and says you cannot disobey it. Its time for their Theoscientific offspring to rule the lands, bach into history, straight into the future.
Mortal? Immortal? We've got the best deal that can be had!

I want to die. Not today, not tomorrow, but someday. I couldn't handle watching everyone around me die as I continued to live on.
