Wheres he been lately, as I am feeling particularly full of bullshit and I need deflating. I hope he didn't join a doomsday cult and off himself.

Being summertime and all in the western hemisphere, he's probably on vacation.

According to my sources, he was carried away by a swarm of cicadas.
He was deposited in a cornfield in Iowa and should be fine once he locates a telephone.

Hang in there, Swam!

I have it on good authority that Swami was set to appear in his own episode of The OC. I'm sure that after he has exhausted himself by fulfilling his role that he will once again participate in the sport that is S & P.

We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.---senior doobie

Who cares you arselicker?

Swami is one of the most ignorant posters I've ever met on this board. Why? Because he labels entire sets of subjects with the same conclusions.

Each individual thing in this world should be open to question, if you don't question then you are being ignorant. Don't tar everything with the same brush.

Also, I find it quite interesting how the Swarm has created a 'Skeptic's' following, in a completely open spirituality discussion forum. I think its very wrong for a member to be telling people what they can and can't write; don't mods do that?

It sure has prevented some people from posting for fear of flaming and I know that because someone else did a whole post about this. These are exactly the sort of society games I came here to get away from so don't allow any one member to dictate a whole forum, please.

While I do see where you're coming from (I've had my own issues with him in the past) the truth is there's nothing you can do about it, and he has just as much a right to post the way he does as you have to post your opinion of him, like you just did.

He does tend to be very over-generalizing, though. That is definitely one of my primary irks about him.

It's just the way he is. In the end, you just have to accept him for who he is. I mean, you can either dwell on the things you don't like about him, or try to accept those points and enjoy the things you do like about him.

But.. you don't have to read his posts if you don't want to. This is actually how I go about keeping myself "off his back" so to speak.. I just don't read his posts if I feel they are making me irate. hahaha.

But none the less, I like Swami. And I'm one of the few people who've gone out of their way to declare what's so wrong with Swami in the past.. so I'm sure you too can learn to like him despite his downfalls.

Live and let live.

Yea all fair comments.

I mean I don't hate the guy or anything, its just I've heard it all before.

He keeps questioning the credability of the people who post when we all know that little to NO credability can be proved through the internet. But yet he acts like he is the authority to question everyone. Equally if he doesn't think I am 'credable' enough for him then he doesn't have to read my posts and persistantly reply with ignorant remarks. Its usually the 'I know better' and 'Now I will try my hardest to make you look stupid'.

all:
I like to sharpen my mind with or against the swarm. He makes you turning out of your reserve. I like the challenge.
Even if he would have some 'complexes' and I would consider him a relative poor being, if he really would be like this.
But remember, swami is only a officially posed 'charakter', selected by him. Not his true self. I always think for the positive

Somehow this forum needs a 'sharping-stone' like him, to let you know your limits and focus your claims.

He surely takes a creativity-break

As one who has met Swami and had numerous discussions with him, I can assure you that this is correct.  He is a much deeper, more open minded person than many posters give him credit for being.  Extreme willingness to believe unsubstantiated claims because the ideas seem attractive is often confused with open mindedness (and is used by the politically minded to gain support for their agendas).  Swami has explored many things for many years (more years conciously exploring things of a spiritual nature than most posters to this forum have spent on this earth).  His experiences of course have colored his opinions and have helped to bring him to a certain way of analyzing claims of the supernatural.

Yup.. you've touched the other thing I don't like about swami: A tendency to use his own ego as a tool to try to teach others to not be egotistical.

Again, what can you do though? I just ignore him. *shrug*

Yeah, but it's the very fact that he's not being himself that irks me the most.

I may be wrong, but I THINK most of us here post with all of our personalities.

I mean, I can only speak for myself.. but I know I don't post as a "character".. I post as me. What good is it going to do anyone if I come in here and face down others' "true selves" by pretending to be something else?

Sure, it might make us think outside the box, but is this false-self not the very definition of ego?

And isn't ego the thing he most often tells others not to build on?

Does anyone else see something wrong with that? heh..

*Shrug*

Like I said before, he's gonna be who he's gonna be, and I can't change that..

I know his intentions are good; I just think his methods are questionable.

Everyone here uses a nick and that very fact gives one permission, the inclination even, to stray outside the bounds of ones normal personality. Each of us here is an individual, yet we all have different roles, different hats to wear depending on the circumstances. Steve at different times is father, son, lover, teacher, student- but to call him phony based upon that would be unfair.

All of us are actors on a grand stage. And Swami plays his part well! Some actors may resent the fact that Swami has a bigger part to play- well write yourself a bigger role and jump back in!
