Excellent, should be fun watching those two wastes of life going at it.

both will say they trounced one another. Their last *ahem* "battle" was just a bunch of fluff and rude comments which had nothing to do with the topic being discussed. goooood watchin'.

did you see their last debate? They didn't raise their voice once and Moore basically went out on tangents. Bill didn't really get into it like I thought he would.

in their first encounter moore was basically bringing up good points about how the right was raping the middle and working class...oreilly tried to spin for a second, moore shot him down with facts and oreilly just sat there...bill couldnt stick up for corporations like he wanted to because it would expose him as the phoney he is.. moore is much smarter than oreilly...hannity( who i hate even more than billy boy) would be a better match for moore. it is a mistake for the repubs to put moore on fox news, because when interviewed he comes across as a nice, midwestern, concerned fat guy. not the hateful propagandist that they paint him as...they try to say libs are rich elitists...moore is fat guy from a terribly impoverished background.

yeah right...you must of been watching the Bizzaro Orielly factor then. Both of them talked in circles and made no prudent points.

I saw it so there's no need. Both of them were utterly boring anf neither made a point that could of "one upped" the other. I think your hate for Bill clouded the reality of that discussion. I'll watch it tonight and we'll discuss the results.

I agree with Inn. I caught an episode of O'Reilly a few weeks ago where he was bitching about how Moore was claiming to have beaten him in a debate. He showed the clip and it consisted of neither beating the other with both having nonsensical arguments. There's always a chance that the O'Reilly team edited it to his liking so I won't pass judgment in full until tonight.

Well I reckon Moore won. The thing about whether it was a lie or a mistake is only a technicality and it doesn't matter, the point is it's been really costly and Bush made the call, he's responsible. But then O'Reilly says well we removed a brutal dictator but Moore's all but there's 30 brutal dictators everywhere else in the world what about them? We should have sent special forces to Afghanistan to find Osama, immediately, not a vast bombing campaign 2 months after Bin Laden's already fled. Iraq had nothing to do with terrorism. O'Reilly was on the defensive. Good interview.

I thought it was about even. Moore absolutely slaughtered O'Reilly as he posed the question about what he would say to a parent who lost his/her child in the war. I would give a slight nod to O'Reilly on almost all the other topics, including the semantics argument about Bush lying(O'Reilly was definitely correct) and the discussion about interventionism where Bill cornered Moore with a World War 2 analogy(I disagree with O'Reilly vehemently on the subject of interventionism but he did win the argument in my mind). Was very close to me.

Maybe, maybe if there was a draft Moore would have had a point. Every soldier signed up on their own accord. They sacrified themselves. I just thought O'Reilly realized this which is why he kept saying he would sacrifice himself and not anyone else. All i took from the debate was that:
a. Moore has no idea what the word lie means.
b. Moore did not pay attention to the reasons given for going to war.
c. Moore still does not realize that you cannot send your child to die. It is up to the person to sign up, so why did Moore ask O'Reilly over and over if he would sacrifice his own child.
d. O'Reilly does have a bit of self-restraint.

I thought Moore got taken to town. He looked unbelievable unintelligent. The way he responded to the Bush as a liar question was ridiculously weak and his statement about the Iraqis overthrowing Saddam Hussein on their own was unbelievably ignorant and out of touch with reality. Saddam had been in power for around 30 years and there have been several failed attempts to overthrow him, each resulting in mass executions and torture. What a moron. I thought Michael Moore was at least moderately intelligent, but after seeing that... "Would you send your child to Iraq to die?" what kind of question is that? Sure Mike, I would love to send my kid to his death regardless of what I think about US foreign policy! The proper question would have been "If you were commander and chief and responsible for the wellbeing of the United States people, would you order our troops into war to fight and die?" Moore's question was typical in that it ignored the reality that SOMEBODY has to be responsible for our national defense and SOMEBODY HAS TO MAKE THOSE DECISIONS. Pulling that false dilema shit on O'Reilly was pretty silly. However, I was disapointed that O'Reilly dodged that question. I mean, there was no right answer to the question, but I had hoped he could have directly addressed it.
I never really liked O'Reilly, but after seeing that show I think he has more consinstency, logic, and civility than his liberal counterparts. Michael Moore is a case example of what happens when they don't teach critical thinking in high school.

Pathetic really...cant believe moore didnt mention Powell and Rice's statements which denied the existence of WMD or the fact that the FBI knew the african-uranium link was bogus when Powell used it at the UN or the fact that Cheney was touting links between Iraq and Al-qaeda a year after the CIA had discounted them. These are the sort of things that point to at the best incompetence and at the worst downright lying on the part of the bush administration wouldnt you say?
I mean you can blame the intel community all you like but if the govt. ignore what they are being told then surely it is their fault right?

I have to agree. I certainly don't like Moore and have never paid much attention to Oreilly, only seeing bits and pieces of his show.
I don't think it was very engaging, but Moore showed what a moron he is IMO. He appeared as an inept politician trying to skirt issues, much like Bush actually. Blaiming Bush for Sep. 11 because the CIA wasn't sharing information with the FBI? That was against the law - law that was in place long before Bush took office.
I also liked when he said he wouldn't remove any gov't he didn't think was an immanent threat, then contradicted himself when cornered about Hitler.
At least Oreilly would concede points in an attempt to reach some sort of common ground. Before this I had assumed Moore was an intelligent, albeit misguided individual. He didn't strike me as intelligent or even very informed.

Well having just read the "debate".....thanx for the link! I would have to say it sounded like a couple kids argueing over who's bigger brother was the toughest kid in the 3rd grade playground. Moore; "well my brother's taller than yours" O'rielly; "oh yeah?, well my brother can lift up the whole lunch table" Moore; "well my brother saw a movie on martial arts, he knows karate!" O'rielly; "big deal.....my brother knows how to use a gun" You get the picture. There was nothing that would even compare to a first year debating course there. But lest we forget who they are 'selling' that show to. Fox News (Murdoch and Company) have an agenda. I was mostly shocked to see that Moore would assist in selling ads for Fox, but then Moore is promoting a movie (one that by the way has now grossed over $100mil). What was Disney thinking....... Anyhow, the Fox News chronies will come away thinking Moore is an idiot, and their president is doing the best job for America. Murdoch will sell ads,(probably at an inflated rate) and make his corporation a few more bucks. More people will go see the movie........even the "right wing" is supporting Moore on his documentary. I don't believe any of Moore's 'fans' would bother watching Fox News, especially a spin doctor like O'rielly.......No Spin Zone my ass. And by the way, have you heard that Moveon.org is suing Fox? In the end it all seemed rather unitelligent at best. peace
