Spineless Republicans

Spineless Republicans

How much courage does it take to stand up to your own government?

How much courage does it take to look at the ugly truth and admit it?

Spineless cowards live in fear, and are easily manipulated by those who understand that fear.

Hitler understood that fear. Stalin understood that fear. Bush understands that fear.

Appeal to the people's fears, and you can be assured that they will think about their fear, and little else.

Fear is the basic instinct. If a person feels that a leader is addressing those things he fears, he will be loyal to that leader.

Notice how many Republicans are scared sh*itless of terrorists. It's almost all they think about.

Notice how they are scared sh*itless of Kerry becoming president, whining that he will "let the terrorists attack".

Notice how they absurdly claim that Gore wouldn't have done anything about 9/11.

They keep referring to Bush as "strong" and "resolute". Nothing else matters to them.

They are so afraid they can't think. Their posts are clearly evidence of this. They are fearful and mindless.

They are also afraid of "homos". Fear and hate go together.

Theya are also fearful of "infidels". The fear the "Godless liberals".

It's sickening to see so many gutless cowards among us, too yellow to face the truth, too cowardly to stand up for real American values: freedom of expression, honesty, tolerance, and fair play.

Do you think I'm being too hard on them? Should I perhaps just 'plod along', refraining from such inflammatory rhetoric? Should I continue to be the stereotypical "liberal wimp"?

Sorry. It's just not me. Unlike my Republican counterparts, I'm not such a gutless coward that I am too scared to even think for myself.

Some very nice generalizations. Assuming you are a democrat, you are absolutely no better than the average Republican in my eyes.

Anyone who makes wild generalizations like that losses credibility in my book.  Anybody who uses reason can see that there is no "evil" party and there is no "good" party.  Republicans are not all "war mongers", and like wise Democrats are not all "Socialists" and so forth....

I grew up in a Democrat family....my dad taught me very early on that Democrat=Good and Republican=Evil   I know now of course this is not the case...extremism can be reached from the right or the left, almost like a circle where extreme right and left meet together on the other side of the moderates...and you sir...are not a moderate

You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

If only I could see through this cloak of conservative fear, I would then plainly see that George Bush is just like Hitler and Stalin. Boy does that stuff get thrown around way too casually.

You got one thing right about my fear. I am absolutely terrified of having John Kerry for President. As corrupt as our government is on all levels, I don't want them in charge of my medical care, or the medical care of my wife and boys.

I also fear the class war ramifications of Edward's message of "two Americas". I wonder if Edwards could have made his tax sheltered millions if he was trying to sue a government health system instead of using bad science to extort millions of dollars from private Doctors.

My greatest fear right now is that you have missed you medication. You need to keep on schedule and don't forget your meds.

its well documented that people in fear are more likely to make illogical decisions...  like re-electing Bush.

Name one single fucking democrat who is running TODAY on a platform of banning private ownership of firearms.

Just one.

Interestingly, when one searches for "guns" or "gun control" on the DNC website - the official party platform - one finds a handful of references.

1 - Making sure there is a zero tolerance policy towards guns in schools.
2 - The continuation of the ban on assault weapons.
3 - A note that the recent House Appropriations bill was condensed into an Omnibus bill at the last moment prior to house recess last week, and that that bill included a rider that forces the records obtained during a background check be destroyed in 24 hours instead of the current 90 days.
4 - Closing the "gun show loophole" that allows some firearms purchased at gun shows to be purchased without a background check.

Does that sound like "banning" firearms to you?
Sounds like responsible ownership policy to me...

dianne feinstein comes to mind.

The continuation of the ban on assault weapons.

the "assault weapons" ban is exactly the sort of thing i'm talking about. it is legislation based on fear, not reason.

fortunately it'll be dead in less than 2 months.

"Assault" rifles don't hit harder than deer rifles. They can be modified to play Rock & Roll, but that's just plain illegal.

The scariest thing about Kerry is his vagueness.
