Hey everyone, long time no see.
I will be staying in Amherst, Mass. for the next few weeks and I wanted to know if there were any other active species besides the following:
Panaeolus subbalteatus Gymnopilus spectabilis = G. junonius
I am staying near a college campus where there are many wooded areas. I can almost guarantee I won't find any but I figured I would have fun trying.
I will be posting pictures of my findings ASAP. I presently do not have the materials to make a spore print but I am planning to get them soon and post those as well.
Any additional information or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, ShroomNoob03

I have a question conserning Gymnopilus spectabilis.
When do these mushrooms usually grow?
One website I visited stated that they only grew from Early Fall to Mid-Winter while another site stated that they grew from Summer to Winter.
To make the question more specific, will I be able to find this species at this time of the year?
Thanks, ShroomNoob03

good luck, I live like a half hour away and I've never found magic mushrooms.

Got a question about a substance? Erowid might already have your answer! Have questions about the mushroom experience? The Tripper's FAQ may have your answer or someone else might have had your question before. Highly unlikely to find G. Spectabilis this time of year... I live about 40 minutes away and to the south.. And none of G. spec spots are even close to fruiting... The only actives you have a shot at this time of year..are Pan subbs and ps. caerulipes... Good luck Nofindum...
Oh yeah and I found alot of A. muscaria var. formosa last week but I'm not going there... I think they are on thier first fruiting.. small specimens.... Nofindum...
