Michigan Hunt Pics
    #2918184 - 07/22/04 10:14 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

Well today I went out and photgraphed alot of different shrooms. I doubt I have anything here that could be worth further investigation, but if anybody disagrees, let me know and I will go back and get a closer look at something as well as prints.

Alot of these red things in all sizes, they must have popped up after last nights storm.

Inverted turds from the depths.

Coral wannabe...

Another red one.

Well this was a fun trip. Not really an actual hunt, as I'm still trying to get a hold of some guide books. Hope you like some of the pics!

I dont remember exactly what the underside of #2 looked like...  I think I found that one right after I realized I had somehow crossed into state land...  I snapped the shot and headed back with the aide of slight confusion as to how I'd ended up there.

I would have left em bigger, but I was afraid if they were too large they'd bog things down :frown:

The third one looks like clavulina cristata to me. Edible (but not choice) if it is indeed cristata, but get a positive ID first though if you intend on eating it. More info would help. Don't consume unless you're absolutely positive though, as there are several poisonous corals (and even more of unknown edibility).

The fourth looks like a Russula of some sort.

Nr. 2 is probably Craterellus cornucopioides .

Numero uno looks like is could be a bolete, but we would need to know if there were pores. Oh well....

It is a bolete, i've got at least 5 patchs near me.
They seem to like to grow near oak trees. Prolly on unhatched acorns.
