Most people think it has to do with neural response in the brain. Kinda like a time delay...your brain processes something crazy fast and by the time is takes it to get through the synapses, you have already thought it but you haven't exactly recognized it yet, thus deja vu..basically a brain glitch. Apparently it happens in the memory center of the brain, so it gives the sense of happening a long time ago..

One time me and my friend had dejavu at the same exact time while she was in the other room. Scientifically explain that one.

The brain is a powerful machine...there have actually been studies that say that if you are in a negative mood, your computer for instance, will not run correctly...remember that the brain is an electrical generator(much more powerful than a car battery), and electrical interference is not only possible, but occurs frequently.

lol That also explains why when I walked by one of those "grab a toy" arcade machines that it suddenly activated.
