Shelf Life of PF jars

ok if i were to make my jars and sterlize them and all the prep work, how long could they sit b4 they would go bad?

They can sit around untill they contaminate. And that could be forever untill it dries out. I don't think most would reccommend letting them sit around after adding water.

I got impatient waiting for spores to arrive, so I went ahead & PC'd my jars. They sat just about a week before inoculating. Here I am at 12 days after inoc. and almost 100% colonization in half of the jars. And I think I was even a little low on the moisture -- one of the PF teks has a lower ratio of water added.

Just for the record. After PCing them I let my jars set around for 7-10 days before inocultion just to find out which jars were not sterielized properly. When I get them down from the closet I only use the jars that are clean and I end up with 100% makin it. So I think they will last for along time. and in the fridge probley for months. Besides there are several vendors who sell prepared PF style jars. Shit they ship from europe to the states and that can take weeks

Yeah as Fucknuckle (cool name) said, as long as they are really sterilized, they will store. If I were you I'd sterilize them with foil over them and leave them in the fridge with foil over it.

put the jars in a plastic garbage bag, spray the hell out of the inside of that bag with lysol, close it up tight with tape, put it in the fridge, and don't open that bag til you're ready to inject... ziploc bags work nice too...
