A random occurance...

As I was just walking home, I saw 2 people stood in the street staring into the sky. Its dark out and I looked up to see what they were looking at.
They were watching a UFO cross the sky. I know I've see a lot of them in my time. The couple were saying "odd" & "strange" and I heard one say "its not flashing". I was going to talk to them, I considered it for a good 30 seconds then thought fuck it and came home.
If your wondering what the UFO was like it was the size and colour of 2 bright stars and travelled in a straight line. It was visible to me for about a minute & I don't know how long the couple were watching it.
It was too big and travelling to fast to be a satellite. Space debris, only visible for 3-4 seconds, no. Aircraft, highly unlikely. Ball lightening/Plasma ball, no. So I deem UFO.
Everyone usually flames UFO/alien stuff saying its not spirituality or philosophy but it is and its very much a part of my philosophising because its been a big part of my life!

A UFO = Unidentified Flying Object. I see unidentified flying objects nearly every time I glance at the sky...no big deal... or did you identify this flying object as UFO=spaceship?

It was no bid deal indeed, just funny how we can ignore what is going on right above us so blatently, without a worry in the world.

Yeah, an alien spacecraft from a thousand parsecs away is much more likely than any other explanation.
BTW, how many comic books in your collection?

Hahaha, have you ever watched the sky for any lentgh of time? Have you ever researched astronomy, UFO's and the differences between the 2? I think not. As you consider yourself so open and wisened Swarm you should keep yourself open to the possibility that you have tarred the paranormal subjects with the same brush.
Your always setting Swami challenges, well I have a challenge for you. I dare you to spend a few months ACTUALLY researching the subject in an unbiased way. By research I mean learn what IS SUPPOSED TO BE UP THERE IN THE NIGHT SKY and learn what IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE UP THERE then spend a few hours every clear evening studying the sky.
Exclusive58, if it was a satellite then it was a propelled satellite.

a propelled satellite?... once a satellite is in orbit, it usually goes really fast and if you were able to see it for a minute, that means it wasn't going that fast, because it seems like a minute is about the right time it would take a satellite to cross the sky
it was going in a straight line...that's a pretty good indication that it was in orbit
most people to report a UFO sighting here at the shroomery talk about an object moving in all different directions

My son and I were watching the night sky when he spotted three faint 'stars' waaaaaaaay up travelling in a triangular formation. It was pretty much what I thought a UFO might look like. It travelled from horizon to horizon and seemed to slowly bank (not turn) as it flew away. I did a little research on satellites and it turns out there is a particular satellite formation of three satellites that fly in a triangular formation and the time it was to pass overhead matched the time we saw it. I'll bet those three satellites are responsible for many "UFO" sightings. Some friends and I camped out in the Mojave desert about a month ago and I told them about it. A half hour later my buddie spots the same formation. This time I looked to see if background stars were blotted out in the space between the lights (indicating that the object is solid). The stars did shine in the space so it was definitely just satellites. Not that your sighting was only satellites...who knows?

As per usual, another member has guessed wrong again.
When in the Navy, we cruised for months in the the Pacific Ocean. Nights were amazing as there were no city lights, no shipboard lights and a 360 degree view in total darkness except for the stars. Viewing the night sky rarely gets any better than this. Shipboard entertainment was relegated to cards, books and watching 1 of 3 movies over and over again, so I chose to spend many nights topside observing the sky.
Other than some meteors and the rare satellite (1975), I never saw anything unusual.

yes, aliens have such interest in our planet that they fly over the sky at blazing speeds and then blast back off to their planets... undetected... do you know what a meteorite is dano?

> once a satellite is in orbit, it usually goes really fast
Actually, for a satellite to reach orbit, it has to be going really fast.
> and if you were able to see it for a minute, that means it wasn't going that fast
Geometry... the circumference of a circle is 2 x Pi x Radius... this means the futher away a satellite is, the larger its circumference (orbit) is... which means that for a satellite to cross the sky, it has to travel much much futher than an airplane (or anything which is closer to the earth)... so even if it is going really fast, it still has to travel a lot more distance... therefore, it doesn't appear to be moving very fast from the ground.
> formation of three satellites
Spy satellites, yes? They group works together to triangulate objects on the ground. The latest revision of this satellite group only uses two instead of three. If I remember correctly, these are primarily used to track ships at sea. (not GPS)

Yeah, but what if it is going really, really fast?

Satellites can change direction as well...
It is nearly impossible for a human to determine the speed or distance of an object without a point of reference at a known distance or of a known size.

Seems you are unable to even match the correct quote to the right poster; yet we are supposed to believe your amazing powers of observation.
>>>Other than some meteors and the rare satellite (1975), I never saw anything unusual. That has changed Swarm, time moves on, I'm telling you its going mad up there, ignore me I know you will but that was why I dared you... fuck it
Do you really want me to dig up your old posts stating these sitings have been going on for many hundreds of years or more, yet you now state that little or nothing was happening 29 years ago?
Your lack of ability to be consistent is typical of UFO illogic.

Haaaaaaaaaaar, I was replying to everyone! Oh dear havin trouble admitting were wrong arn't we swarm (swarm double checks post).
Seems you are always able to maintain an excuse to keep your ignorance, scared me thinks by the fact you could be taken in your bed against your will any night...
We are expected to believe your amazing powers swarm yet you have jumped the gun just to get a little chip in at someone, pathetic, I bet your a weasle that can't defend yourself in real life so you sit there picking technicality holes in internet arguements. Just accept that other people have different opinions and leave them alone unless you have a valid point of view to get across.

Did you ramble just to distract from the point about your previously posted ideas not matching your current ideas? Who is in error; the you of a year ago, or the you of today?
