My stoneless Tamps.

Jars been colonized since mid November. It’s a pin clone culture but still weird it’s not doing anything at this point.

Stones are so weird about half of my bags. Don’t contain any stones either. In my opinion, growing stones is extremely picky, but fruits always seem to produce
In this VICE documentary on YouTube, they did an episode on the truffle Brothers in Amsterdam and they said they wish they could sell the fruits because they were so much easier than stones to produce si=JNfF2s3W_C0k6XrQ

I've always had the exact inversion with galindoi / mexicana var. galindoi. Really picky about fruiting, but producing stones like a boss

One thing I have noticed is if the grain is toward the dry side, it does produce stones easier than if the grain is fully colonized

I was thinking about soaking grain and mixing it 50/50 with some dry coir, then pcing as usual. Do you guys think this might keep it drier or is the steam from the pc just gonna swamp it?
Also a thought, what if the dry coir got a pc round in a dry jar and then added to a grain bag in my glovebox?

what's everyones opinions of doing "drippy corn" tek with stone producers?
my last tamp grow was drippy corn and it colonized fully in about 9 days but the stones essentially incapsulated the corn making them look much bigger than they were. it was a bitch to collect them because the stones themselves were actually rather small.
I like the speed of colonization but I Wonder what the best grain for stone producers is according to general consensus. I know I had rather decent results with WBS last year. I'm hoping to do one BIG grow and get enough to last me a few months or the year once I brew and freeze it all or turn them all into gummies. i know the actual stone production time is about 3-4 months which is fine but I'd like to minimize total working time as much as possible

Don’t soak your grain. It is a waste of time. I used 2 cups of wheat 2 cups of water … hey little bit dryer if you want stones mainly put in a PC bag and cook for two hours

I fill the pressure cooker up with at least 4 inches of water and just drop the bags in like this

These are the bags I use IMPRESA 50 Pack Mushroom Growing... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Q8VZ8X6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Just hydrate the coir until only a couple drops come out when you squeeze it
But if you just want stones, in my opinion, i like them a lot better in wheat or other grains than coir , because I don’t mind eating a couple cooked grains, but cooked coir is yucky

I set up some water tubs and moved these over from the 2 gal zips I'd been using. They seem happy so far. Stones and pins popping up.

Happy fryday y'all

So I have 3 jars of Mexicana strain-x that I want to spawn to bulk this Sunday, and I was thinking of doing it three ways:
- coir/poo/verm (I assume they like it like pans?)
- coir-only (just to see if it would fruit)
- cased grains (I've read it's a good way to get quick fruit/clones/prints)
What are your thoughts?
Strain-x is said to primarily be a fruiter and not much of a stone producer (though there seem to be some small ones in my jars), so fruits are my goal.
For the c/p/v and coir-only options, I planned to run them in trays inside of a water tub. For the cased grains I was thinking a mini-mini-mono.

They’ll do fine on coir only. No need for poo or verm. Only reason I’d skip the verm is so it’s easier to clean any stones you harvest. If this particular strain doesn’t really produce stones or if you didn’t want to harvest any that may form you could use verm if you’d like.

I have 3 tubs of tampanensis that r not showing any signs of fruiting for the 3 weeks-1month since spawning. 1 made out of agar to grain spawn already having sclerotia since they took 2 months to fully colonize. And two made with LC bag spawn that was done in about 3 weeks so no sclerotia whatsoever. Tubs have a glass jar with water and a stone in a corner. Cased with cactus soil, that claims to contain sand. No peat cause we dont got that stuff in environmental paradise europe 🌈 Really was expecting fruits but I guess stones will do. Why r these so picky to fruit. Should I wait more

Some cultures seem to only want to produce stones, all my recent tries with my first tamp culture were this way. I was able to get a small amount of fruits but mainly stones. I’ve seen older posts here where stubborn cultures were able to be fruited by re spawning the tub by breaking up the stones. I tried that with a couple of mine and didn’t really have any success, just grew more stones
Elf on a Log respawn
I’ve since acquired a few different cultures so hoping for better luck this time. Just put some mexicana and a different tamp culture to grain today.

Thanks a lot! Nice to see my twin pioneer great stuff. That is indeed what I shall do after harvesting the stones. Any time frame you might recommend or just leave it be untill the stones are visibly massive?
