Yes, I`m talking fish tank pump.On my terrarium, I`ve drilled 1/4 inch holes equidistant on all four sides of my aquarium, just above the perlite layer. They belong there as CO2 is heavier than air and will sink to the bottom. Some folks stuff the holes with polyfill. I leave mine open as I have found polyfill to restrict airflow. The "right" way to run an airpump is to seal it in a small tupperware type container with silicone. Drill a 1/2 inch hole and loosely stuff it with polyfill. This will ensure filtered, contaminate free air. I`ll try to post a pick of my pump if you can hold on. Your more than welcome.

By the way, just lead your airline into your terrarium and dangle the hose somewhere near the middle, above the shrooms. Not the best pic., but I`m sure you get the idea. Every hole gets sealed with silicone except the intake. You`ll have to cut the AC plug off the filter to feed the power cord thru the hole. This filter (in pic) works fine for a ten gallon.

Great pump explanations! if you cant get polyfill be creative, ive used paper towels and old surgical masks in a pinch. Also I didnt have to cut the AC power cord off, I made a 1.5 inch slit in my container and trimmed the plastic handle of the male plug with a carpet knife enough to push the cord thru and silicon sealed it, no problems.
