persionally its a hardcore tie between Kid A and Hail to the Theif... then i lean more toward hail to the theif... but im like... naw... fucking Kid A, man. but then im like... hmmm fuck, i dont know... but i think by far, the trippiest song radiohead ever made is "hunting bears" off of amnesiac... im sure people will disagree, but i guess its just my experieces with it i.e. mushroom + nitrous + hunting bears = BLISS.

the bends was good, ok computer was good...but anything after that is wanna-be electronic music. there's better stuff out there - less pretentious and brooding.

I Highly disagree.

Kid A has some masterpieces in there.  The mood is just as brooding and pretentious as Radiohead ever was, they just found more mediums to express it.

It's too bad you can't appreciate their expansion into less 'traditional' instruments, because Kid A, Amnesiac and Hail to the Theif are surely not 'wanna-be electronic music', they are great GREAT albums so well produced it makes me shit my pants.

That phrase is quite funny in itself, because anything Radiohead has ever done has inspired and launched a huge number of other musicians. You could hardly call that 'wanna-be' music.

I was just about to list songs that are especially great from the most recent albums, but :
A) that'd take a long time
B) if you can't appreciate good music like newer Radiohead, i shouldn't even try...
and C) I think in part you're just trying to get a rise out of people, and create conflict.

:frown:

i think kid a is their best album as far as innovation, pushing the limits of rock, and that sort of thing. you can't beat its ambience and beautiful engineering.

personally, ok computer is a wonderful album to trip to as well, it induces lots of mental imagery for me with its sparkling effects and glossy sound. if that makes sense..

hell, amnesiac is great for tripping too, but i definitely prefer kid a over it. hail to the thief's ok.. the gloaming's insane..

Yes! The guitar textures on OK Computer are some of the best ever recorded and really come alive when you trip, in the same sorta way songs like "Strawberry Fields Forever" do (for me anyway). Kid A's probably their greatest achievement to date; I also love HTTT, and Amnesiac has some truly great songs (Life in a Glass House and Pyramid Song stand out for me) but is not really a good album overall because it's so cut-up and incoherent compared to their other work. It has really great songs though. I wish they recorded Packt like Sardines with guitars and drums like they play it live...it rocks
