This is a must-read. Just what the hell was going through this turniphead's mind? Berger, that is.

"In the course of reviewing over several days thousands of pages of documents on behalf of the Clinton administration in connection with requests by the Sept. 11 commission, I inadvertently took a few documents from the Archives," Berger said.
"When I was informed by the Archives that there were documents missing, I immediately returned everything I had except for a few document that I apparently had accidentally discarded," he said.

Everyone in the Clinton administration really needs to learn the importance of a good filing system. They seem to have way too many problems with misplaced documents.

This post should read "Clinton legacy of destroying incriminating evidence lives on in Bush legacy of missing service records and secrecy" Wonder why people think Bubba was more a crook than Geedub? There is enough questionable dealings in both their past to realize we are led by shyster bastards who whore to $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and we are the source of the $$$$$$$ nothing more. The only reason these men would wish you to make more money is if they can get their hands on some. How you live or if you live is only as important as the market dictates. To all you who only see CONSERVATIVE or LIBERAL I suggest you consider they are both FUNDED by the same interests, and those interests OWN you in Amerika and much of the rest of the world. Pinky I would expect you to have realized the money buys the policy no matter who is in charge. WR

Because some people think the republicans are right most of the time and others think the democrats are right most of the time.
Of course some people realise both sides lie and cheat most of the time.

You, while right, can't possibly expect them to: a. Admit it. b. Ever hold a Dem to the same standards as a Rep.
Most of them anyway.

This just goes to show that the democrats cannot be trusted either. Keeping them out of the whitehouse does not make them any more honest.

Sounds like Berger is tring to cover his ass. With all accusations of Bush resisting the 9/11 commission at least he wasn't destroying documents.

While I can't say for sure as to why he used the term, I can assure you that I wasn't refering to you.

If anyone cares, a former Reagan aide was on CNN today saying that Berger took copies of the documents, not the actual documents.
If he did what he did with the intention of defrauding the 9/11 panel and hiding evidence, then I think he should share the prison cell with all of the Bush administration people who have done the same and blocked the panel's investigation at every turn.
If, in fact, he actually did what he is being accused of. I've found 32 different versions of the accusations so far. This is a weird one.

Berger did what he did knowing it was illegal. Anyone who has security clearance knows what the fuck he can and cannot do, they sign numerous documents before having access to the kinds of things Berger had access to in this instance. There are protocols that are commonly followed and they are explicitly spelled out. Berger and his lawyer admitted that he knowingly removed the handwritten notes by placing them in his jacket, pants and socks, and also inadvertently (yeh, right and monkeys might fly out my butt) took copies of actual classified documents in a leather portfolio.
The man is a former national security advisor, if this was 'a mistake,' then Clinton was more fucked up in his appointments than anyone has previously accused him of and this is also very telling about the abilities and judgement of John Kerry as an executive (he was an adviser to John Kerry). You have to be a total fucking moron to think that Berger didn't know the implications of his actions or the legality of his actions. Anybody who believes that what Berger did was an honest mistake is either hopelessly naive or lying to themselves.

No comments for almost a week? Dang. I've been following this strange saga, and the more that gets revealed, the more interesting it gets. For a former National Security Advisor, this yokel was almost unbelievably clumsy.
Interesting that Clinton says he knew Berger was being investigated, yet Kerry claims he "hadn't a clue. Not a clue."
This could be huge folks. Maybe not up to Watergate standards, but almost.
No one else gives a shit?

It's beyond big but he'll never do a single days time for it. And with our governments stellar track record they probably don't even have copies.
