umm yeah, what he said, sounds like an agaricus but that's a pretty useless description.

Read the ID tips and forum rules.

alright lets see well the gills r attached to the cap. like i said they r brown

i found them in Connecticut not sure of county and in the town of east hampton

they were growing in the grass not in a pasture just in regular grass

the stem is solid and thick

is that good enough? i'll try getting spore prints

the gills are attached to the cap eh?  that doesn't narrow it down much at all  :smirk:

spore prints are probably about the most useful thing to consider when identifying mushrooms to a genus.  if the print turns out brown, your mushrooms are likely some species of agaricus, some mushrooms in that genus are toxic and some are edible, none are psychoactive.  you'll get better help if you follow the outline in the rules, without a spore print or pictures at the least it's just a shot in the dark, there are lots of white mushrooms with brown gills that grow in grass.

if you can't get pictures you NEED a good description, including all of the following

a. Habitat (where [state/province/country] and what does it grow on)
b. Characteristics of the gills (color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc)
c. Measurements of cap and stem.
d. Characteristics of the stem (color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc)
e. Characteristics of the cap (color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc)
f. Spore print color (very important!)
g. Color that the mushroom bruises
h. Scent of mushroom

there's more info on describing mushrooms at the link I posted in this thread and about 4 others today, read.

Honestly, you don't have a death cap or a destroying angel because the gills are brown. It's too much of a risk for me to tell you to eat it in my oppinion given the limitted description.
