I feel like an idiot, but whats a "part"?

Wow, I feel like a total idiot for asking this...

But AFOAF has a recipe for 2parts verm, 1part water, 1part brf and 1 part hulled millet as a substrate.

So would he do like, 2 cups verm, 1 cup water, 1 cup brf, and 1 cup hulled millet?

First, figure out what size of jar you are using (assuming you are using jars)

Then, figure out the ratios.

2/5 of the jar will be vermiculite, 1/5 of the jar will be water, 1/5 brf and so on so forth.

Use water and figure out how many cups your jars will use and do the math.

That's the right ratios (and the right idea), but not EXACTLY right because of the size of your jars.  But good sleuthing

Just prepare the a good amount of substrate following the ratio and then fill as much jars as you can.

No need to calculate for each individual jars.

.fs.

I like simple questions like this. I don't feel so dumb when I ask mine.

Thanks, figured so. My FOAF always had a little substrate left over.
