This is my favorite part of the whole story

"Toronto 1, which simulcast the broadcast north of the border, said it received no complaints from viewers about Fox's decision to can O Canada. "

I haven't seen anyone in this thread claiming that Canada is a "significant factor" on the world stage...nor do I know any Canadians who would claim such a thing

Yeah, but the point is, some of the teams that play baseball are based in Canada.

I mean who the fuck cares, no one in canooda seemed to mind.

Just out of curiosity, you say "Canada is a non factor on the world stage", I assume you think America is a factor? What, if any role do you feel that you have played in helping America reach, or sustain its "factor" status?

oooh check you out. I would rather live in a country that is a non-factor on the world stage than live in a country where I am a non-actor on the stage of democracy.

Yes, America is a very big influence on the world, however, at least we can vote and have an impact on our government.

Obviously you don't include Mexico when you say "North America"

And yep, US beers are the laughing stock of the real beer drinking world.

Now if only the politicians in America would follow Canada's example... *sigh*

This Canada thing is sounding kinda nice... any single Canadian shroomery women wanna hook up with an American guy that is so sick of American politics that he has already moved out of the country?

I'm not really familiar with Mexican beer. I would expect it to be pretty similar to America though really.

It's hot in Mexico, and would expect thin light-bodied beers (like pilsners) to be popular.

Also they, like America, have lots of cheap corn.

Wouldn't Mexico be to hot to grow hops?

What makes you think an entire land mass of almost 2 million square kilometers, including beaches, mountains, and forests, has the same climate?

I suppose there might be some areas up in the mountains that could support hops. I'm not really familiar with Mexico's climate, the convection patterns of the Pacific and atlantic ocean, and jet stream.

I think though, that for the most part Mexico is warmer than the US and Canada. Am I mistaken in this?

Maybe we should start a new thread about beer and get it out of a thread about Canada and the Fox network.

I mean i guess it was kind of relevant when it was about American and Canadian beer and comparisons of Canadian and American culture but now it's just dum.

England has a cooler climate, yet their beer is warm...

I dont know what pislners/lagers your talking about, maybe besides the mainstream bud/miller products. Sam Adams stands as one of the World's finest lager, not to mention all their other beer. It all depends on what you like, if you like hoppy beer, light tasting beer, etc. In North America we have the finest diversity of beers, that inclues pilsners and lagers. Maybe your just not a fan of a lager, stick to ales and stouts and whatnot then.

American has some very damned good whiskeys/bourbons as well.
