American beer and Canadian beer is the same stuff in different bottles; cheap pilsner lager.
There are approximately 20,000 different kinds of beer in the world, 80%-90% of Canadian beer and American beer is pilsner lager.
Canada and America both pretty much equally suck in the beer department.

Aren't all pilsners lagers? Pilsner Urquell is the original pilsner, brewed with soft water and Saaz hops. All lagers are made with bottom fermenting yeast. That being said, there is a great variety in pilsners and some are delicious in my estimation, while others make me want to gag. Canadian beers are historically, in my opinion, better than American beers. In recent years however, the growth of micro-brews and smaller breweries in the U.S. has helped me to enjoy more American beers.
Shania Twain and a case of Moosehead, beats Jennifer Lopez and some 40s of Malt Liquor any day of the week.

Yes, all pilsners are lagers, but not all lagers are pilsners. The point is, all of North America is a beer wasteland. Neither of us have anything to brag about.
Even Australia has us beat.
