Mold or just bruising?
    #28968730 - 10/01/24 11:35 AM (2 days, 5 hours ago)

I just want to be sure, I’ve searched and saw similar color for bruising, but to be on the safe side I’d appreciate any advice. There is a pic from about 24 hours before that shows no mold.  Thanks.

If there was mold they wouldn't have grown so healthily.

Nice job

Edit: In the future feel them. Unless they're mushy you likely have nothing to worry about.

I do not see any mold.  Those fruits are in good shape too.

I don't know how to pick my mushrooms without then turning into sad bruised messes. Is there a way to avoid that? They seem so delicate. Not that it matters - potent either way

Bruising during picking happens all the time. Don't worry about it. Nice fruits!

I like to use a pair of curved blade scissors to cut them right at the substrate level...with a little practice you can follow the contour of the base of the stipe and get a harvested mushroom with little to no substrate attached and no mushroom base will be left on the substrate.

Nice bounty!

It may help to get them on the dehydrator asap, but it does look like some of those stems are split and pulled - aggressively?

I don't have a ton of experience in the harvest dept yet but I do a little 1/4 twist as I pull up while trying not to squeeze and have seen very little bruising so far.  Pinch and pull seems to cause bruising.
