I'm new to mushroom hunting. I've been with friends before looking for magic mushrooms and finding plenty, but when I Look for a new spot without them I come back only to be dissapointed. Aparently I'm finding mushrooms that are close but not the ones that I'm looking for.
These are from adelaide hills (S.A Aus) growing where pinetrees had been cut down probably a few years ago. They were mainly found close by the stumps.
I apologise for the darkness of the shots. Not much Light here.It also makes it hard to focus. Sorry.
Theres no aparent blue bruising on any mushrooms yet. after a few hours. some of them have hollow stems others don't, but all are "fibre" like stems.
If I need to post Better pics I will try.

the reason for that is that your friends knew what they where looking for and you don't see to have done much research. the "snag 'n' bag every woodloving mushroom you find" method doesn't do it and it will cause you untold trouble trying to seperate your colletions at home.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

Now is not a good time to start looking in SA if you havent found them before. Season is very slow at the moment, my once abundant patches now only have a few good subs. Hopefully we will get some decent rainfull before the season ends for a good final flush.
