Two kinds of mycelium growth??
    #2893735 - 07/15/04 04:58 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Sorry theres no pic but I made 24 PF jars, and 11 of them have been thrown out due to green mold. Now the other 13 I have left at almost done colonizing, but in a couple of jars it looks like there are two kinds of mycelium growing.

One is brite white thick and looks very health and the other looks thiner and is tinted brown, Not brown just shady like you can still see the verm.

It is very easy to tell them apart because there is like a seprate line in between the two. Thanks

hard to tell w/o pic
but it sounds okay
my foaf's jars often have very clear "lines"
between areas of myc
not sure why this is, but it has never been a problem for me

Yeap, a pic would really help.
Anyway, it looks like it could be weaker mycelium or some kind of mold, most probably cobweb.
Give it some time, if that section doesn't get really bright white, then you've got a problem ...
