Need help with spore prints to agar, nothing is growing

So here I am, about 14 days ago I inoculated some plates with spore prints from p.c. aper, p. mexicana, and pan cyan, and none of them have any visible growth, I just followed the steps recommended for a PDA. how much longer should I wait? I am thinking of trying to place a few drops of sterile water (sealed, obtained from a hospital) into these plates, on top of the spores, did you ever do this? (because I read some theories on the forum that spores need hydration, I even read that someone had success pouring some new PDA over old agar with spores that wouldn't grow.)
I have now made other plates with PDYA and black food coloring, I have inoculated with all my spores again, and also I had a plate of pan cyan from 2 years ago (very dry), so I made some cuts in the whitest part of the mycelium on this plate, and transferred it to 5 other new plates hoping the mycelium would revive, did you ever do this?
Thanks.

Yes mycelium matting on agar can be recovered. I'm most cautious why no growth has taken place over two week with the other plates. Even bacteria would show up by now. Any pictures.

I would say that maybe your agar recipe is a little dry. Can we see a picture? I feel like itβs a consistency issue because you should see something growing on it. Even if your spores were really old and dehydrated.

spores don't last forever. don't waste your plates tweaking inconsequential variables if absolutely nothing is germinating after a few weeks, get newer spores. most of my psilocybe/pan spores are dead after 12 months aside from cubensis, and even then I had a print that wouldn't germ after 6 months.

I swabbed four different prints and wiped them on four different plates five days ago, and they haven't changed a bit. MSS has always done something for me after five days, but people say prints take longer.
Only thing I'm concerned about, if I swab a print and streak it on the agar, and I don't *see* any of the spores on the agar, is that fine? I understand they're microscopic individually, so I assume so?

You can check this video: I haven't tried, but the technique seems good

So I just poured some drops of water (sterilized water from hospital, sealed, with a new syringe) and do something with the inoculation loop

Hope works

Properly stored spores will stay viable for decades. I've used 10 year old prints with no issues.

When I used a swab on agar, it took 4-6 weeks before I saw something. I thought it was a goner so I stopped paying attention to that plate. One day I checked it and I saw growth on the plate. Be patient and just LITFA aka leave it the fuck alone lmao
Good luck and keep us updated!
