“Have a look at how ‘AGGRESSIVE’ this mycelium is!!”
5 days in with my first agar to PF-tek and stoked to see some natalensis growth…
I showed my wife and said look how aggressive this mycelium is and she just burst out laughing at me 😂
Appreciate the community and help this far!

Pics are always useful… it’s probably not even ‘aggressive’ 😂

Tits calming down as we speak…

Can you take a picture of the bottom part of that second jar, but a lot closer?

I am almost positive that is not healthy growth. That looks like Trichoderma that’s about to turn green. But I’d like that closer picture. :3

Looks a lot better in this picture. From the other angle, the light was playing off of the reflection of the glass, making it look dusty.

I got to know, what's up with the foil? Don't you have a lid on the jar?

Yeah there’s a lid on the Jar.. I followed the PF-tek instructions and without thinking what I was doing I drilled two holes in the top of jar. Didn’t realise the holes were for LC inoculation. (Total newbie here) Didn’t have any micropore tape either.
I’ve since knocked up some BR grain jars with no holes.
So I have 4 PF-Tek & 4 BR jars (no holes & foil)… they all seem to be doing ok.
I’ve been reading up that Natalensis do well with coir…so bought a couple of coir bricks today.
If these puppies colonise ok - Could you share a specific tek that I could follow along with?
Really appreciate any help ✌🏼

There is a Natalensis thread that is super long but worth reading.
If you're going to fruit them as pf cakes use a water tub. There's Teks on here but there pretty simple.
If you're going to spawn them to bulk you'll want a show of Tek. There are a number of them. Again pretty simple. Just pick one and follow it.
For the Natalensis spawn at 1:4. That worked well for me. For a show of that is one pint to 2 quarts of sub.
The holes in the lid are for gas exchange. You should add holes to the ones that don't have them. The top layer of vermiculite is there as a "shield" so contaminants can't colonize in the grain/cake.
The Hitchhikers Guideis where you should start while those are doing there thing.
