Shook my jars, mycelium is in a ball between rye and lid

Goodmorning, so I just shook my grain jars, first time using grain jars.
Of course there really not that much space to shake a jar anyway!
So I shook my jars the best that I could. It's difficult to get the mycelium to break up with so little space to shake the grain around.
A couple of my jars, the mycelium ended up in a ball at the top of the jar, between the rye and the underside of the lid. Not enough space to shake the jar and break up the clump!!
Will this jar be OK? What do I do, I know this clump REALLY needs to be broken up and mixed with all the grain in the jar!!
Thank you in advance for any recommendations or advice you give me!
Thank you,
WC

Well it is bacteria infected clump but as long as mycelium bits comes off to other grains it probably be fine. Have you tired hitting the jar with a bike tire. Or a car tire.

I'm still learning the ways of contamination. How can you tell it is bacterial?
Definitely smack your jar on something like a bike tire. And smack it pretty good, those jars are a tougher than we think.
For what it's worth, I've had better results when I fill my jars a little past half-way. Way easier to Break & Shake.

You shouldn't really need to smack your jars on a bike tire etc.. If it doesn't break up with a few good smacks from the thigh or hand then you know it's going to be bacterial. Clean mycelium will break up easily with minimal force when shaking up jars.

Good to know! I was wondering why some jars breakup nicey nice, and others are more stubborn.

So the clump is bacteria you say. So what do I do and what do I fo about the rest of the grain. Will it colonize and be usable even though you say the clump is bacteria.
I really stuck to sterile protocol. I can't believe it got bacteria somehow.
THANK YOU,
WC

Could be a bunch of different ways something got in/didn't get sterilized out. You could let it go from here and provided the jar looks mostly clean you could do a 1:1 tub and hope or you could top fruit it and see if that takes
