Grain bag placement
    #28897584 - 08/02/24 10:46 AM (5 months, 12 days ago)

Thank you in advance for replying to me and for any advice you give me!!

So I have 3 grain bagsthat I inoculated. The live culture ran down through the grain and the mycelium has completely colonized the bottom! I am sure there is mycelium growing inside the grain considering the live culture ran down through the grain!

My question is does it matter how the bag is sitting, in this case sitting on the bottom of the bag where it is totally colonized on the surface that is.

Does it hurt for the bag to be sitting on its bottom on the mycelium? Or do I need to lay the bag on it's side on grain that has not been colonized? I do not want to do anything that will keep Mt mycelium from spreading and colonizing my bags completely!!

Thank you for your advice,  it is very appreciated!

WC

Should be fine the way it is. The mycelium is a living growing organism. It'll make its way back up and around and you're likely gonna be doing a break and shake later anyway

It is fine the way it is.  Just be sure to not block the filter patch and leave a small space between the bags about the space of your index finger.  From what you describe, they sound like they may be ready to be broken up.
