Working with “ diy low tech flowhood”

I recently bought all the supplies to build this since I just started and don’t have the money for an actual flowhood. This is the url to the build: si=Wl3cvgohRRFOZiyr
But in summary, it’s a dry cleaner bag with arm holes and an access hole cut into it and connected to a hepa13 air purifier. So pretty cheap and easy alternative that has great results according to the comments.
My question is since the air is moving how would I use a spore print to swab and smear on agar in this type of environment.
What other tips should I know about??
Ty in advance!!

Just spend $15 and buy a 110qt tub and make a SAB. That is garbage.

If you are a new grower you should start with a still air box, laminar flow needs to be free of turbulance, this is not laminar flow. and you will also need a still air box for cleaning up plates, opening a contaminated plate in a flow hood just blows contamination all over everything you are working with. Many people use only a SAB with excellent results, aseptic technique matters more then a flow hood

This is what I'm going to build, the model with the air purifier and a trash bag dosent have lamanar flow so when you put your arms in you will introduce contaminated stuff...
Or you could just use a big clear steralitr with 2 arm holes in it I make bleach water and soak a towel in it and put it at the bottom of my Still Air Box, the damp bleach towel get any contams to stick to it so they don't keep floating around, been able to inoculate unmodified jars and draw up LC into cleaned out spore syringes WITH 0% CONTAMANATION!!!! But I would like to be able to do sterile transfers of agar ( I actually use chia seeds instead of agar but it is 100% the same tec) to spawn bags, I'm tired of washing glass and unless I use corn ( FOUND A SPECIAL PURPLE PURVIAN CORN THEY USE TO MAKE A DRINK OUT OF IT MAKES INCREDIBLE SPAWN) I have problems with clumping and locking up into BLOCK WITH RICE, QUINOA, OR BARLEY RICE

I would use a still air box, no covers over the arm holes, make sure to use 70% iso to clean our arms, wear clean gloves and put a bleach water soaked towel at the bottom of your S.A.B..... also make sure the air in the room is still, no fans or ac or HEPA filter going
I put my bleach towel down after wiping the inside of the box and re soaking and ringing out the towel, put my jars in the box and let everything settle for a few winutes, then I spray 70% iso in there, go and scrub your hands up to your biceps, let air dry then put on gloves and clean with 70% iso, MAKE SURE TO WEAR MASK OR AT LEAST NOT BREATH IN THE SAB!!! and remember as long as you don't introduce air currents into the box and work smooth and as quick as possible you should be fine, I have VERY good luck even taking clones, testing strain comparability, and inoculateing unmoded jars, and it took a long time for me to get good sterile tec, but being so anal about the set up saved me untill I learned..... Yeah man the trash bag on the HEPA air purifier sucks l, use that air purifier next to your grow to keep clean FAE, use the trash bags as a liner and If your really still need a fancy set up make a lamanar flow hood 100$ ( or but one for like 300-800$)

Okay, thank you for your reply. After all I read I was really wondering how this would work since the air is flying all around inside there and the work is being done in the middle not in front of the flow. If I affix this to the bottom of a tote (then flip on side and work on inside)and use is this a way could that work? Just wondering I just saw a video of someone doing that as a low tek version. I was just trying to figure out a cheaper easier way to work with pouring agar but I will take all of your advice and go with a SAB for now!!

Oh man, I was just watching this video literally paused right after he shows what I was going to build LOL and points out the issues. I will build this for sure! I know I am making things more complicated for myself in the beginning but part of this hobby that I love is the small complex parts and you know being a little scientist But I am very very keen to start immediately as I just received 75% of my supplies and the rest tomorrow. I bought everything I could possibly need minus the SAB or stuff for the gordotek because I thought this solution would work. Thank goodness I posted here first! I guess Ill try the agar in the SAB. Seems a little difficult but Im sure Ill figure it out! Thanks for your input! If I wouldnt have found gordotek on my own like 5 minutes ago that video woulda been.. well still is essential!

You could scrape some spores into a shot glass of water first. Then set it inside the shmuv bag, and then swirl a loop around in it to inoculate the dish with.
