My cake rolled into the perlite and now I am so sad!!

My first flush from this AIO bag was great over 370 g but someone told me a should dunk it and put it in a sgfc so I did. And I have to place it every night on a shelf in my closet cause I run the AC at like 65 and figured it would dry out. Well on a huge dose last night my dumb ass tries to put it on this high shelf and the cake rolled into the pearl it’s which was devastating while shroomed out lol.
Some of the caps that were just forming straight rolled off and those bigs ones as you can see the biggest has ripped off half way. Should I just pick it off?
I’m tempted to just throw out the whole project as I just got all the supplies to start agar and shoeboxes and this thing takes up too much room. The cake is constant dried out but somehow I’m getting fuzzy feet which I just read is due to lack of fae which is ironic cause I just taped up some of the holes w micropore tape to try to hold some moisture smh!
I’m lost and I no longer think Reddit is a good place to ask for advice cause this is where it’s gotten me lol minus the rolling cake cause that was totally my fault! What should I do?! Is it even salvageable?? I cracked a window in my room. I keep the sgfc near a frosted jalosie window pane so it gets indirect light but it’s my room which has hardly any air flow during the day. I could also just put the fan on low but I’m confused by the cake being bone dry every hour yet no fae. I thought a sgfc was supposed to make these elements easier!!! :,)

Welcome to the Shroomery
This one was made to dry out fast The easiest and cheapest way now would be: Pick off the shrooms, dunk it for some hours, coat in coir, place it in a ziplock with some holes poked.
Or just a water tub.
Fuzzy feet are mostly genetic by the way
You said very promising things about agar, shoeboxes and Reddit, you seem to be on the right track.

Okay I’ll give it a try I just got my coir bricks in the mail. I’m not sure how much to use tho. Shouldn’t be much? Could I just do it in my pressure cooker pot without pressure cooking it just with the boiling water til it cools?

You do not need very much. Just enough to cover the whole substrate after it has been dunked. As far as how to prepare it; you can use any pot that water can be boiled in.

Okay I boiled about 4 quartz of water and covered one brick since it’s impossible to break it up. Can I keep the coir I didn’t use and repasteurize it later or should I just throw it out?

Coir bricks expand a lot, a 650 g brick can make 8-9 qts of hydrated coir, so I hope you used a big pot. Most of it will be leftover since you don't need much to cover that cake. Hydrated coir is usable for a long time, but it has to be kept in a vessel that doesn't have any food or grain remains or any nutrients at all, or you can get mold growth. You can buy a bucket with a lid that is used only for coir/verm and nothing else ever. This way the prepped coir should be good for months.

Okay yea I used a big pot but then put the coir in a brand new plastic container I split into a smaller and large one to fit it and put the casing in a separate one.

Looks a lot better now, just offset the tub lid slightly so there's a small opening for air, and leave it alone. With the coir on you'll be able to tell easier if it needs misting, coir turns lighter in color as it loses moisture. You should have new mycelium popping up soon, once the coir is colonized you can then look for and maintain the water droplets on the mycelium until it fruits.

If you haven't yet I strongly suggest reading 'The Hitchhikers Guide to the Shroomery' a link you can find in my sig. It will answer most of your questions except for how to balance a tub on a shelf and not tip over the cake inside. 1
