Wats the best solution to mixed into dry oat bags to get rid of oat mites? that isn't going to contam or hurt the myc growth? will be cooking the oats slowly but surely but in the mean time i dont want the problem to spread

I can't find it now but the other day I was reading about using diatomaceous earth in dry form on your oats directly. Use the search feature and you're golden.

I add a good fist-full or two to any bag of grain which sits around. Prevents weevils, mites and any other insect really I guess. Very sound preventative measure in general

Also moving your grain to an airtight container as soon as it's purchased never hurts.

I don't weigh or measure, just a couple of handfuls shook into an average size bag. Mine here are 20kg. You can't really use too much, it is gonna wash off when you rinse your grain to start your prep

Store in 5 gallon buckets after you zap 3 lbs at a time in microwave for 30 seconds. Frying the eggs is worth the effort.

No bugs in the grain will hurt your grow if they go through the pc process, they are just extra nutrients. Are you sure they are mites? Or are they weevils? Weevils are the most common “pest” found in grain. Weevils cause no human any harm and definitely not gonna hurt myc growing.

Weevils would be my first guess as well, but they do eat holes in the grain which both lowers the amount of food available for the mushrooms and makes for a starchy mess when trying to PC it.
DE will kill either of them though. I do all long term storage of grain in my old gasketted unmodified tubs to keep stuff from every getting into them.

The picture quality is pretty bad, but it looks like a granary weevil somewhere in the larvae/pupae stage. Mites typically don't feed on the seed, but rather the vegetative plant material.

spreading how? weevils will not try to get in the tub of colonized sub, they cant contam what they dont interact with. you want an outside vecotr to worry about contam? fugnus gnats

Looks like a baby rouch or termite. He is right gnats will mess up your grow more then they should. And in a bag of grain I've had them decay into dirt within 6 months because of weevils.
