Can anyone recommend a GOOD blender??
    #2887077 - 07/13/04 05:46 PM (19 years, 8 months ago)

I have a Oster blender that I got at Walmart, and frankly, it sucks ass. It doesn't crush ice or frozen fruit worth crap, even when there is a ton of juice/water/milk in there.

I get so pissed off when the fucking thing doesn't work. I mean, I love fruit smoothies and it won't even follow through and do its job.

So can anyone recommend a blender that won't suck and breaks up and mixes frozen drinks really well? All I want is a smoothie!! *pouts*

Yeah, no kidding....I'm really ready to shell out the big bucks this time around.

I'll probably go to one of those nice interior stores and look around there.

Yeah, you'll get what you pay for, for sure. Oster actually makes some good blenders but you'll pay for them. Any good blender will easily run close to $100 (and up from there).

I'd go to a store that specializes in kitchenwares and tell them what your blending needs are. I'm sure they could hook you up if you are willing to shell out the cash.

BTW How's it been going? Haven't seen you around here much lately.

Ahem.

http://www.vitamix.com/household/products/super5000/index.html

My mother has one.  I'm hoping i can buy it off her one day.  It = quality.  I see it used in 'Smoothie stores' all the time.
2 horsepower. (compared to your typical blender, which is 0.5 HP)

You toss in the recipies for a soup, and it'll bring it to a boil in 4-5 minutes....using only the friction of the blades.  It kneads dough, and grinds grains.  It can also make ice cream, along with a billion other things,  and it costs about $500 dollars.

Good enough for ya?

I mainly only use mine for shroom smoothies...Man o man there has been a shitload of ultra fine homegrown an field shrooms shoved in my old blender...About 3 yrs back we had tons of rain and i was picking every day for awhile ...that blender was roaring that summer
Back then i didnt even know how to dose properly ...we would just put enough fresh shrooms to fill it almost full...pour the OJ and letter rip  :smirk: :mushroom2:

Although I prefer to eat my shrooms plain (dried or fresh) I can think of no better use for a blender then mushroom smoothies!

Me?  I'm doing great!  Working on alot of personal writing and stuff before I start college in the fall.  I need to spend more time at the Shroomery while I can, but I get hooked and then nothing gets done!

Thanks for the blender suggestions...I'm going out to Linen's and Things tomorrow to purchase one.

$400.00?!?!?!?! for that blender ( the vita mix).Thats nuts! Get your self a KitchenAid or cuisenart. I have a kitchenaid and it never fails me,if I had to replace it ever I'd get the Cuisenart.
Smoothies,margaritas,pina coladas,protein drinks you name it.Both cost less than a $100.00
