Trichoderma after introducing fresh air

Hi all.
I've noticed a pattern over the last year, enough so that I'd like to understand it. What happens: I spawn to bulk in a shoebox, latch it. I wait for the myc to grow. It populates the surface, I have beautiful surface conditions with little drops. I wait until the first little shrooms start growing. In the photo below you can see I've actually waited until they are no longer just small babies. This is the problem, then: I pop the lid to allow fresh air and to encourage evaporation. The very next morning the trich is there. Not a green spot, and not a sign of the white start of the trich - that knobbly covering of the surface. But in every case, a good surface, pinning starts, pop the lid, trich the very next day.
What's up? Any thoughts? Is the trich there all the time, dormant? Why does it not show? Why does the fresh air "activate" it? I grow in a clean room, and I don't get this happening in other tubs in the same room, so I'm reluctant to conclude popping the latches introduces the contam.
This is the disaster from this morning:

It's from your spawn, always is.

Cool, from the spawn. Thanks. Why, though, does the stuff show after fresh air? Is it suppressed by the high CO2, but is activated by fresh O2?

That is 100% coincidence for the most part.
Maybe someone will correct me but I've not noticed a correlation between fresh air and contamination.
It's colonizing though your substrate, you just notice it when it pops through the surface

Then my depression is back My new PC has to give me clean grains after three hours at pressure:

My agar certainly looks clean, grows nicely, pins beautifully. I make some jars and bags with LC, and again the LC tests clean on agar. Anyway, just ordered a load of new jars, will use agar exclusively for a while, dump working with bags and LC, see what happens. Thanks.

how are you inoculating your grain? SAB or Flowhood?

It's not all doom and gloom. Sometimes my process works - I'll just write it off as an inconsistent sterile technique

Keep a colonized grain jar on hand next time you spawn a tub and see if the grain jar contaminates around the same time your tub does.
Shake the grain jar up when you spawn the tub too

Don't get depressed over this, just work toward finding the loopholes in your technique and focus on improving them.

Perhaps the trich just responds very quickly to the increased air. If you open up airflow earlier maybe the trich would show sooner. Dunno, just spit balling ideas. I sure ain't judging, my tubs go fucky far too soon. 😂

Not feeling judged at all. This is an unforgiving hobby and a bad one to pick for an impatient person. I'm seeing it as a long, long lesson in patience
