Can someone help?
    #2886047 - 07/13/04 02:32 PM (13 years, 10 months ago)

I found these mushrooms, pictured in the link below, in a horse pasture, in N. Alabama. May I have help identifying these. Thanks,

the white ones "look" like Panaeolus antillarum.  (non-active)

the big one is most likely Chlorophyllum molybdites - green spored lepiota - (non-active, and deadly poisonous) do not consume.

*edit - make sure to read this
--> http://www.shroomery.org/index/par/23917
that way you will get a more accurate ID, instead of getting the ("it looks like 'X' species") response. :thumbup:

I would say the same, Pan antillarum and C. molybdites. Nice pics.

Thanks for your time guy's. I will be back out later. There is nothing but cow fields, and woods here. Though I have had a hard time finding certin families of mushrooms. I had a thought that was crazy: "Maybe the goats were eating them all!" lol

mmm. Yeah definately Panaeolus antillarum and Chlorophyllum molybdites like the other guys already said.

There are Psilocybe cubensis fruiting right now (im sure) in n. alabama right now.. but the thing is is that they won't be in Horse pastures, 'gotta go to a cow pasture for them, for the most part.

If horse pastures are your safest option then look in the stables where there is a mixture of horse dung and stable shavings, cubes grow good in there, otherwise you wont find any actives just fruiting in a horse pasture fruiting from horse dung in the field; check out the stables with stable shavings,

Cow pastures should have cubes in them right now in your area

Keep shroomin,
GG

I can activly confirm that there are P. Cubensis growing here in N. Al as of now, GG.

last hunt was a week ago, with around 30 actives found. majority of the caps were about 5 inches in diameter.

Happy hunting!
