A 3rd grade class started a project to make planters for each child to take home to their moms for Mother's Day. The teacher wanted to have a plant in it that was easy to take care of, and the class decided to use cactus plants.
The students were given greenware pottery planters in the shape of a circus clown. The clown planters were professionally fired at a class outing so the kids could see the process. Then they painted each planter with glaze. It was great fun.
Then the students planted cactus seeds in the finished planters and they grew nicely over a period of time, but unfortunately, in the long run, the children were not allowed to take them home...
The cactus plants were removed and replaced with ivy. Then the children were then allowed to take them home.
The teacher is quoted as saying, "Cactus seemed like a such a good idea at the time!"
I believe it looks the best all blown up, so be sure to click it.

I call BS on your story.
Still a good pic, even if I have seen it many times before.

One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality.
