Moving Little Buttons Out On Their Own

I am interested in taking some of these smaller buttons and moving them off on their own, since there is so fucking many of them (at least forty). I was wondering, what would the best way to do this be? I tried doing some quick searching but didn't find anything...
Anyone have some good links or some quick information? I am guessing I would just slice 'em off and perhaps get some sort of rooting agent or something? Not too familiar with the art of growing so maybe not... any help is appreciated.
 Peace.

very nice plant! is it a caespitosae? anyways... let the soil dry throughly... get a sharp blade and cut the buttons you want on their junction (or a little above). i just have an advice - too little pups are rather prone to dying if not grafted, they need a certain size (like half an inch or a bit more) for being able to root before dry/rot. btw, how old is it? Thanks for the advice! I believe it is seven years old, and the guy said it has grown entirely on its own roots. And it is a caespitosae as well, according to him.
I plan on just moving a few of 'em, I figure it will be a good way to start a good collection... I plan on getting involved with grafting later on as well.
So after I cut the buttons, I just put it on the soil, will it grow all right? Or do I need some sort of rooting solution?
Thanks!
 Peace.

Rooting solution/powder shouldn't be needed, but it might help with smaller pups... Don't forget to let the wound heal!

Yeah, don't just cut the pups and stick them in soil. The cut area has to callous over first. You could even let them sit a while until roots start to form

So, its as simple as cutting them, sitting them on their side or something so the cut will callous over and start to form roots, and then just plant them, eh? Catcus tissue is amazing stuff. Thanks, everyone!
 Peace.
