Hey I have a jar of nutrient broth with mycelium growing in it but its pretty old, nearly 2 months, would the mycelium be dead by now or could I use it to innoculate some cakes?

I would say do a transfer to fresh "nutrient broth" to get new fresh growth before you use it for jars. Or do a small batch of test jars first.

Well I was hoping to innoculate either tonight or tomorrow, so I'm thinking what I'll do is that I'll innoculate each cake in two spots, one with the aged mycelium and the other with spores. if the mycelium doesn't work it doesn't work and the spores should still. If the mycelium does work then it will colonize faster than the spores and help speed things up a little.
