Hi everyone,
Ok I stuffed up. I had a spore print , I made up a mix in a jar to make 4 syringes . Thats where the problem lays. I only have 10 jars, to do my first PF-Tek. I have used 1 syringe worth for 10 jars 2 days ago, then I realise I have all this spore solution left over. Doh'eth.
Will not these spores in the jar start to grow ?
If so how should I go about quickly using it up ? try to case some cakes (1st try ever doing pf-tek so I'd rather see if this works first.)
Or can I make I big mutha cake with the rest of the solution and see how it goes ? I have plenty of supplies (BRF, verm, per) except spore prints & jars (pyrex).
I thought I was going so well until I looked at me spore jar and thought why did I do that!!! LoL
Thanks for your Idea's and Opinions.

I'd say put the extra 3 syringes in a ziplock in the fridge for now. See how your jars do before you use the rest of your spores. From everything I've read, the syringes should stay viable for at least a couple of months; maybe by then you'll be doing a grain tek or culturing on agar!

If was to do a case, which tek would be far the easiest to learn and master?

I'm just gettin' started with casing, so I'm not an expert.... but the easiest method seems to be coco coir mixed with verm, in about a 70/30 mix. Supposedly it retains moisture very well and has none of the pH problems that you might have if you were to use peat moss.
You can get coco coir at any pet shop that has reptile supplies. It comes in a little brick for about $5.
I'm doing the PF cakes like everyone says to get started, but I've already decided to move to agar and do a grain transfer. I want nice big flushes for my efforts. All that waiting is maddening for just a lil' cake!
